Role Overview:
The European External Action Service (EEAS) is seeking two experienced Data Warehouse and Reporting Developers to strengthen its internal data and reporting team. The selected professionals will support the ongoing development, maintenance, and enhancement of the data warehouse and BI environment, ensuring timely and accurate reporting and data analysis for critical business operations.
This is a high-impact, on-site role in Brussels, requiring immediate readiness and full integration into a multi-cultural and multilingual team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop scalable, secure, and performant data warehouse architectures.
• Implement and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various systems.
• Create and support dashboards and reports using Qlik Sense and other business intelligence tools.
• Work closely with analysts and business users to gather and clarify requirements.
• Ensure data integrity and high-quality delivery of BI and reporting services.
• Utilize data modeling and OLAP techniques to optimize analytical capabilities.
• Maintain documentation related to data structures, processes, and standards.
• Ensure compliance with naming conventions, coding standards, and best practices.
Required Expertise & Skills:
• Minimum 11 years of professional experience in data warehousing and reporting (excluding academic studies).
• Excellent knowledge of:
o Data warehouse design and architecture
o Relational database systems applied to data warehouse environments
o Business Intelligence reporting tools (with a strong focus on Qlik Sense)
o ETL tools and practices
• Good knowledge of:
o Data modeling tools
o OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) and data mining tools
• Demonstrated ability to:
o Work in a multi-cultural environment and on large-scale projects
o Collaborate in multilingual meetings
o Communicate effectively in English
o Operate within a team environment
o Work with a high degree of rigour and method, adhering to development standards and coding practices
Work Conditions:
• Location: On-site at EEAS headquarters in Brussels.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours/day. Core hours from 10:00–12:00 and 15:00–17:00.
• Equipment: EEAS will provide all necessary hardware and software tools.
• Reporting: Daily timesheet submission and monthly validation required.
Security & Clearance:
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain EU SECRET level security clearance.
• Clearance procedures will be initiated upon selection and must be completed prior to start date.
• Additional internal vetting will be conducted by the EEAS.
